Conference Announcement
Dear Colleagues,
The Canadian Heavy Oil Association (CHOA), the Petroleum Society of CIM, and the Society of
Petroleum Engineers (SPE), will be convening this fall to explore the various aspects of the heavy
oil and bitumen industry. This conference combines the SPE International Thermal Operations and
Heavy Oil Symposium and the CHOA Annual Business Conference, and will be held on October 20 to
23, 2008. The ITOHOS 2008 organizing committee extends an invitation for you to attend.
The conference theme is Heavy Oil: Integrating the Pieces. It is an international conference and
exhibition, presenting the most current technologies from around the world with a special focus on
heavy oil and bitumen. The scope of the technical program encompasses economic, technical, and
environmental issues that challenge the heavy oil and bitumen business.
The call for papers process will begin in February. Once all entries have been received the organizing
committee will coordinate the program for this year’s conference, including technical papers, case
studies, panel discussions, and keynote addresses.
We look forward to seeing you at ITOHOS 2008.
